Meet John & Ashley

John & Ashley Irving started out as friends, then as business partners when they discovered a shared passion for healthy food and gardening. The two started an organic micro green farm together and grew success, quite literally, from the ground up!

2 Friends Farm has been growing goodness and serving the Northeast since 2012.

Now married, John & Ashley have embarked on their next business adventure in a different type of “green” industry—the cannabis industry, of course—through their dispensary, Ashli’s. In both businesses, they aim to provide the best products and professional service, complemented by a genuine love for what they do.

  • Ashley Irving


    Ashley Irving was born and raised in Seekonk, MA. She comes from a long line of entrepreneurs and business owners and is part of the third generation operating Automated Finishing Co., a family owned and operated engraving company since founded in the 1940’s. She began helping around the business at a very young age. Irving attended Seekonk High School until 1999 and after some time spent traveling and taking college courses, she began working in serious at the family business and over the past 15 years she has held nearly every administrative position as well as production and quality control manager for the company. She continues to work with the family company overseeing finances.

    Irving and her husband John co-founded 2 Friends Farm in 2013, a successful micro-greenery in Attleboro MA. 2 Friends Farm wholesales their products to grocery store chains like Roche Brothers Markets as well as large produce distributors across New England and New York. Her primary responsibilities with 2 Friends Farm focus on payroll, bookkeeping, purchasing, operations and HR, managing 12-20 employees.

    The Irving’s founded Ashli’s Inc, Ashli’s Farm and Ashli’s Extracts in 2017. Ashli’s was awarded provisional licenses in 2018 and have begun the process of bringing this business from concept to operation. Ashley has been primarily responsible local permitting, vendor acquisition, business planning, and the state licensing process. Her relationships with the community have proved invaluable through the licensing process.

  • John Irving


    John Irving was born and raised in Attleboro, MA. Immediately after high school John joined the US Army and proudly served his country for 8 years. While he was serving our country, he had the opportunity to learn and understand the process of a very large organization. He was able to learn skills such as logistics, supply management, inventory control, training and weapons maintenance.

    Irving has been able to use the skills he acquired in the military to successfully earn his contractor’s license and operate his own business for 19 years with at times a team of nearly 20 employees. He has also had success with a variety of independent sales positions before he started 2 Friends Farm with his now wife Ashley Irving.

    2 Friends Farm is a micro-greenery in Attleboro that specializes in a variety of micro greens that are sold through grocery store chains like Roche Brothers Markets and large produce distributors across New England and New York. John and Ashley founded this operation and have been cultivating these greens within federal organic guidelines since the beginning. John in primarily responsible for business development, sales and marketing, facility design, buildout and expansion, and maintenance as well as logistics.

    He and Ashley are ecstatic to have founded Ashli’s Inc, Ashli’s Farm, and Ashli’s Extracts in 2017 and spent a year acquiring appropriate approvals and licenses in Attleboro so that Ashli’s can begin serving the community with quality safe cannabis products, creating several local jobs, and supporting the all out end of prohibition of cannabis. Irving’s primary role at Ashli’s will focus on funding acquisition, licensing compliance, local permitting compliance and business development.

  • Bob Irving

    Chief Operating Officer

    Bob Irving has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer since 2000. He has worked at the Ginley Funeral Homes since 1998, first as an apprentice and later as a director assisting Jim Ginley with the management of his three funeral homes.

    He graduated from Bishop Feehan High School in Attleboro and later graduated from Fisher College with Associate’s Degrees in Business Administration & Accounting. In 1999, he graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Funeral Institute of the Northeast and received the Faculty Award.

    Prior to his funeral-directing career, he worked as a pharmacy technician for twelve years at New England Medical Center’s Floating Hospital for Children in the Pediatric Pharmacy. Although he found his work at the hospital rewarding, he had a desire to work in funeral service and after educating himself a bit about the industry; he enrolled in the funeral service program at the Funeral Institute in 1997. About nine months into the program, he met Jim Ginley and has been associated with the Ginley Funeral Homes, ever since.

    “I truly love what I do and although my responsibilities can be challenging both emotionally and with balancing our unpredictable schedules, I see what I do as a true vocation being able to compassionately help individuals and families at what is probably the most difficult time in their lives.”

    Bob lives in Plainville with his wife, Lisa, who is a public school teacher in South Attleboro and his two children, Zachary and Julia. He tries to spend most of his free time with his family and had volunteered in the local baseball and soccer leagues in his town when his children were young. Bob is a former member of the Plainville Housing Authority and tries to stay active in his local community and town affairs. Bob is excited to join the cannabis industry and is looking forward to serving the local community.
